MASTERCLASS: THE HUMAN FIGURE

In this workshop, we will look at fundamental skills which underpin life drawing, including quick gestural mark-making, measuring and tone. You will draw from a life model, looking objectively at the figure, removing barriers of presumption and foreknowledge. Learn how to capture gesture and bring depth, energy and movement into your work. At the end of the class we will draw all of the technical elements explored together in a long pose. For those who wish, we will also explore colour by adding watercolours to our line drawings.
The class is suitable for any level of ability, whether you are a complete beginner, or just looking to hone your technique and improve certain aspects of your discipline. Hester will be giving one-on-one support throughout.
