Taking place in the museum’s brand new learning room this workshop will provide the fundamental techniques on how to look objectively at the face. Starting with live demonstrations from Hester, attendees will go on to draw from a model, starting with simple shapes to build up the form of the face, Learning creative processes such as construction lines, measuring distances and angles, attendees will go onto add tone, volume and life to their work.

This observation-based workshop will give you the basic tools to get likeness in your portrait drawing, and can be applied to subjects such as life drawings and still life, improving your drawing techniques. Whether you are a complete beginner or just looking to hone your technique and improve certain aspects of your discipline. The class is suitable for any level of ability.

Basic drawing materials will be provided (does not include wet media i.e. paints, watercolours etc). Light refreshments will be provided during the workshop.
